Product Description
The SFP-1040-Cxx is a 10G CWDM 40Km multi-rate SFP+ transceiver using one of the 8 CWDM wavelengths 1471nm to 1611nm and reaching up to 40Km distance on 9/125um fiber. The module can be used for 10G Ethernet, SONET or SDH networks. The xx should be replaced with the channel number on each particular model. For example, the SFP-1040-C47 is a 40Km channel 1471nm transceiver.
There are 18 CWDM channels in total with wavelengths from 1271nm to 1611nm and spacing of 20nm apart. Besides the most frequent CWDM channels in use: 1471nm to 1611nm, there are 10G transceivers available as well for the less common CWDM channels 1271nm to 1451nm. The CWDM 40Km is used for short and medium range fiber connections over single-mode 9/125um fiber plant. Considering the range and the high density number of channels offered by the CWDM technology, such a solution is a very affordable choice for high data throughput solutions.
